Celestica Ireland appoints general manager | Intel appoints new president and chief operating officer

Terry O'Shea has been appointed general manager of the Celestica Ireland facility in Swords. O'Shea joined Celestica in 1998 as director of operations through the acquisition of Madge Networks Limited. In this role he was responsible for reshaping the organisation from an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to a multi-customer EMS business model. Prior to joining Celestica he worked in various positions with Digital Equipment Corporation, Bausch & Lomb and Westinghouse.

BMC Software, announced the appointment of Darroll Buytenhuys to senior vice president, worldwide field operations. The worldwide field operations position combines the Americas and international sales organisations centrally to better manage BMC Software's worldwide sales effort. Buytenhuys has been with BMC Software since 1999 and has most recently held the position, senior vice president -- field operations, international. He joined the company as vice president of its IT process business unit following the company's acquisition of New Dimension in April 1999.

Intel Corporation announced that its board of directors has elected 27-year Intel veteran Paul S. Otellini president and chief operating officer. Otellini, will join chief executive officer Craig R. Barrett in a two-person executive office. He will be responsible for overseeing Intel's internal operations, focusing on the development and delivery of new products and technologies, and the efficiency and productivity of the company's business. Corporate strategy and long-range planning will continue to be led by Barrett. Since 1998, Otellini served as executive vice president and general manager of the Intel architecture group, responsible for the company's microprocessor and chipset businesses. He served as executive vice president of sales and marketing from 1992 to 1998.

Colt Telecom Group plc announced that Werner Klatten has resigned as a director of the company with effect from 15 January 2002. Klatten is one of Germany's leading executives in digital media services and had been a member of Colt's board of directors since May 1999.

Cesky Telecom has appointed Martin Pieters to its board of directors. Since 1989 Pieters has been working in KPN. He worked as the secretary of the board of management of KPN, then as the commercial director and executive director for Telecom regions. From his appointment as vice president of international operations in 1995 he was responsible for projects, joint ventures, participations and international activities of KPN Telecom. He is a member of the supervisory board of KPNQwest (the Netherlands), of the supervisory board of telsource (the Netherlands) and chairman of the supervisory board of Xantic, satellite services (the Netherlands).
