Cork-based company ProsCon announced it is to create 40 highly skilled science and engineering jobs on Monday.
Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment, Micheal Martin, officially opened the process control equipment firm's new headquarters at the Carrigtohill Business Park, Cork.
The company currently has a workforce of over 200 engineers, scientists, managers, technicians and support staff based in Cork, Dublin, Britain and Singapore.
Since its creation in 1978, ProsCon has been involved with hundreds of pharmaceutical and process industry projects in Ireland, the UK, France, Spain, Holland, Singapore, Germany, Denmark and America. Its customers include Abbott, Elan, Bristol Myers Squibb, Pfizer, Roche and Wyeth.
"With support from Enterprise Ireland, ProsCon has grown to become an internationally recognised market leader. I would like to congratulate the ambition and leadership of the management team at ProsCon who have risen to the challenge of establishing and growing an internationally competitive business," said Minister Martin.
The minister added that beyond providing high-value employment in the region, he hoped the new facility would generate spin-off economic benefits for the local economy.
Commenting at the opening Niall Foley, ProsCon's managing director said: "This facility represents a significant milestone in our growth and an investment in the future for the company and our customers. We have been successful in winning a number of high profile projects this year and this is down to the knowledge, expertise and professionalism of the ProsCon Team."
Enterprise Ireland's regional director Brian Quinlan said that his organisation's SME Scaling Unit was working closely with the "successful indigenous company" to ensure it realises its full potential.
ProsCon offers automation, process technology, modular design & build services, IT solutions, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), validation and product lifecycle support services.
