LivePitch puts 'Dragon's Den' in your pocket
Monday, January 14 2008
by ElectricNews.Net

Irish entrepreneurs can now upload videos of investment
pitches at theBusinessShop.ie. Irish businesspeople seeking investment can use a facility
called LivePitch to upload audio visual pitches to an online
system, along with business plans, spreadsheets and images if
they so wish. The clips can then be downloaded by interested
investors onto an iPod or other media device with video
capability.

LivePitch is provided by theBusinessShop.ie, a website that
helps facilitate the purchase and sale of businesses. The
service is available as a free part of the website's standard
service.

LivePitch effectively creates a portable version of 'Dragon's
Den', with investors able to peruse pitches while on the
move. The system allows the potential investor to view the
entrepreneur's presentation style and their personality as
well as assess the business plan and anything else the
potential entrepreneur sees useful to helping them raise
finance.

The concept, while novel, shows an appreciation for the
changing way in which people use online content by helping to
bring entrepreneurs together with potential backers. The
system's creators said they had chosen to launch the service
now due to the rise in broadband usage in Ireland, providing
more people with easier access to content such as online
video.
