Prediction Dynamics appoints marking manager | Microsoft appoints chief security strategist

Prediction Dynamics, the systematic trading and risk management software company, has announced the appointment of Tom Golden as marketing manager. Golden joins Prediction Dynamics from Kainos Software where he was marketing communications manager. Prior to his time at Kainos, Golden spent three years as vice president of marketing communications at Iona Technologies and worked as a journalist and editor in the UK, Ireland and Australia for 10 years.

Swiftcall has appointed Mark McCann as marketing executive. He joins Swiftcall from Pigsback.com where he was content manager. In his new role Mark will be responsible for organising and implementing both on-line and offline marketing campaigns.

Simpson Financial & Technology PR, the high-tech public relations company, has appointed Priscilla O' Regan account manager. O' Regan joined the firm in 2000 and previously worked as a business journalist and with the public relations department of IBM New Zealand.

The board of British Sky Broadcasting Group plc announced that Dr. Dieter Hahn has resigned from the board of directors.

BT announced the appointment of Ian Livingston as group finance director. Livingston joins from Dixons Group plc where he has been finance director since 1997. Prior to that he worked with 3i Group and Bank of America International Ltd. He takes up his new position in succession to Philip Hampton in April and will join the BT Group plc board.

Eircom has announced a number of management changes recently. Cathal Magee is now managing director for retail while Herb Hribar will run the network and wholesale division. Peter Lynch continues as chief financial officer. Gerry O'Sullivan is to step down from his position of director of corporate relations to pursue other interests.

Cisco Systems announced the appointment of Stanford University president John L. Hennessy to its board of directors. Hennessy began his career at Stanford in 1977 as assistant professor of electrical engineering and became a full professor in 1986.

Microsoft announced that Scott Charney, a principal for PricewaterhouseCoopers' Cybercrime Prevention and Response Practice, has agreed to join Microsoft as chief security strategist. Charney will focus on developing strategies to enhance the security of Microsoft products, services and infrastructures as part of the Trustworthy Computing initiative. Before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers, Charney served as chief of the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section (CCIPS), Criminal Division, at the Department of Justice, from 1991 to 1999.

Meridien Research has appointed Karen Prest as analyst of e-financial services and named Jeanne Capachin research director of e-financial services. Prest was most recently manager of e-strategy consulting at Mainspring/IBM Global Services. She previously held senior research and management positions with BankBoston and Charles Schwab. Capachin was formerly a senior analyst with Meridien and before joining she had fifteen years of experience in the banking industry and served as director of education with the New England Automated Clearing House Association.
