UFO Documents Index

http://nsa.gov/docs/efoia/released/ufo.html

Tue Sep 26 10:32:34 +0000 2000

Scully and Mulder thought they wouldn't see it in their lifetimes,

but the Web can be full of surprises. This intriguing site was

posted by the National Security Agency, the US federal agency

charged with protecting the nation's secrets. As long as your PC

can accept PDF files, you can read everything in the NSA files

about unidentified flying objects, from mainstream media reports

to internal documents like those filed by US Navy crewmen in 1968,

reporting a UFO that may or may not have been a decaying satellite.

Soap-e

Tue Sep 26 10:32:34 +0000 2000

If you're looking for luxury soaps from around Europe, this

Dublin-based online shop can help. You can nearly smell the

mimosa, lavender and rose petals wafting through this site, which

sells brands from Italy, Spain and beyond. But be prepared to pay

for the privilege: minimum order is USD20.

University Concert Hall Limerick

by Aoidin Scully

The Concert Hall is making a serious effort to bring the power of

the Web to concert-goers everywhere: the virtual tour here gives a

colour image of the stage from any seat in the auditorium. No

booking is online, but customers can request a call from a ticket agent.

Music Buddha

http://www.mubu.com

Tue Sep 26 10:32:34 +0000 2000

Last week we talked about the RatingZone, which uses

personalisation technology to recommend books and movies you'd

like. This week a tip of the cap goes to the surfer who recommended

Music Buddha, a service that plays music, suggests other tunes you

might like, and makes all of this available for purchase. Mubu

requires preparation, though: you'll need to download the special

Beatnik player, but on-screen instructions are provided. Then,

choose a starting point, rate the songs you hear, and you're on the

road to enlightenment.

NotSpeaking.com

Tue Sep 26 10:32:34 +0000 2000

Eighteen-year-old Brett Banfe has a goal: to go for an entire year

without speaking. A first-year college student in New Jersey, Brett

is documenting his ordeal online, where a live chat window lets him

swap text messages even while mum's the word offline. Brett says

the endgame is worth it: he's raising USD20 a day and gets

USD12,300 overall from the Web site darefordollars.com, which is

earmarked for Head Start, a reading program for inner-city kids.

iCourthouse

http://www.i-courthouse.com/

Tue Sep 26 10:32:34 +0000 2000

Justice takes a bizarre turn here at the Internet courthouse,

where plaintiffs can file their claim, submit their evidence,

and receive judgement from the wise Internet-going public. The

system is flexible: parties can decide in advance whether the

decision of the jury will be binding or merely advisory.

Evidence is submitted by e-mail and compiled into a Trial Book,

which jurors must read before rendering their verdict. The

two California lawyers who run the site say it's a faster,

more entertaining legal route for anyone weary of the law's

delay. Their next move: on-line weddings, coming soon.

Wine Online

http://www.wineonline.ie

Tue Sep 26 10:32:34 +0000 2000

This new resource is a must for Irish wine-lovers. The

magazine-style site gives visitors a peek into the whole

universe of wine, from winemaking practices to detailed vintage

reports. The ordering facility is secure and easy to use, and

visitors can also opt to purchase mixed cases. Best of all,

delivery is free everywhere in Ireland. Great stuff!

Euro I.T. Products

Tue Sep 26 10:32:34 +0000 2000

Incentives abound at this on-line computer store, where two-day

delivery is promised within Ireland, and every tenth person to

buy an LG Phenom handheld computer will get it for free. Also

for sale are network cards, keyboards, disk drives, memory,

DVDs, software and more, all available for secure purchase.

Based in Kilkenny, this weekly entertainment publication has news,

reviews, gig listings, theatre and exhibition listings and more.

For some multimedia, check out the RealAudio interviews or the

music samples from up-and-coming bands, who are invited to submit

their tunes for consideration.

Real Cork

Tue Sep 26 10:32:34 +0000 2000

These citydwellers love their home, but they're tired of the

potholes, rubbish and dilapidated buildings, and with this site

they're aiming to call attention to the worst eyesores. Get one-

click e-mail access here to the city and county manager or the Lord

Mayor if you want to make your voice heard.
