Justice takes a bizarre turn here at the Internet courthouse, where plaintiffs can file their claim, submit their evidence, and receive judgement from the wise Internet-going public. The system is flexible: parties can decide in advance whether the decision of the jury will be binding or merely advisory. Evidence is submitted by e-mail and compiled into a Trial Book, which jurors must read before rendering their verdict. The two California lawyers who run the site say it's a faster, more entertaining legal route for anyone weary of the law's delay. Their next move: on-line weddings, coming soon.
