Blog: Google's OS is go

It's anyone's guess how Microsoft will counter Google's threat to its OS business.
In our connected times it took almost no time at all for news of Google's plans to launch its own PC operating system (based in Linux) to spread. Many words will be written on this particular topic before the expected product makes it to release; possibly late next year. However, that's really not the issue. The knowledge that Google is planning to launch a competing OS to Windows puts a massive spanner in the works for Microsoft. Whether Google ever releases a PC OS or not, manufacturers now have a very large stick with which to beat down the cost of licenses for the up-coming Windows 7 due out later this year. One thing's for sure, Google has finally shown its colours and is taking the battle to Microsoft. Question is, which of these two monopolistic monoliths will ultimately survive to rule over us?
