Siemens IC Networks to sell manufacturing operations to Sanmina-SCI | Storacall Ireland has launched SMS applications that integrate with MS Outlook and Exchange

Sanmina-SCI Corporation and Siemens Information and Communication Networks (IC Networks) have entered into a memorandum of understanding with Siemens AG regarding the acquisition of Siemens ICN Group's final system assembly and test operations in Lake Mary, Florida. The deal also includes two other unnamed IC Networks Group manufacturing operations in Europe. Financial terms of the transaction and multi-year manufacturing supply agreement were not disclosed.

The Data Warehousing Practice (TDWP) on Friday opened its new 4000 square foot premises in the University of Ulster's Science Research Park in Derry. The provider of data warehousing and Web integration services and solutions new offices will accommodate a current team of 30.

NewWorldIQ announced the launch of IncentiveIQ, an enterprise marketing automation solution comprised of ten incentive-driven acquisition programmes. This is the first in a suite of four e-marketing solutions being introduced this year by the company, specifically intended to automate all aspects of the marketing life cycle.

Canon announced first quarter 2002 consolidated net sales of YEN651.1 billion, which represents a year-over-year decrease of 8.9 percent over the first quarter of fiscal year 2001. Canon reported first quarter net income of YEN31.7 billion, or YEN36.11 per share, which represents a year-over-year decrease of 26.9 percent. The company raised its targets on fiscal year 2002 sales, operating profit and net income due to stronger than expected first quarter results and higher expectations for the second half.

IBM has been selected as a framework supplier of servers and services to the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety (DHSSPS) in Northern Ireland. The company also announced plans to introduce a blade system that delivers computing in an ultra-dense server. The new IBM eServer BladeCenter system will incorporate eServer, IBM TotalStorage and networking blades.

Storacall Ireland has launched a suite of SMS applications to integrate SMS messages with MS Outlook and MS Exchange. The company provides the software and hardware to add SMS as an IT tool to networks or individual PCs. The primary module is SMS Messenger which comes as standard and allows the user to send and receive SMS messages via the Seimens TC35, M-20 or GSM Gateway. The SMS messages are sent from and received to a database, either MS SQL or Access.

According to IDC end user spending on IP telephony services in Western Europe is expected to increase to USD2.4 billion in 2006, representing a CAGR of 74 percent since 2001. Revenue from international calls represented the highest portion of total IP Telephony revenue in 2001, as this is the area where most significant cost savings can be offered to users.
