ebookers appoints new General Manager | Euphony offers 3000 minutes free talk time
eWare, the customer relationship management solutions provider, has announced that IONA has deployed eWare in its Sales and Marketing divisions across Europe. eWare provides critical business information and reports for its sales staff and management. Having successfully deployed eWare in the EMEA territory, IONA will now deploy throughout the rest of its global organisation in North America and Asia.
ebookers has appointed Sandra Lawler as General Manager of ebookers.ie. Before joining ebookers.ie, Sandra spent 12 years with Aer Lingus, most recently as ebusiness programme manager.
NTT DoCoMo grabbed the lead in June for the number of new mobile phone subscribers in Japan after selling new camera phones and advanced feature handsets, according to recently released industry data.
Hacktivismo, a global group of programmers and activists, say they are to release a program, named Camera/Shy. The software will make it easy to hide encrypted data in images which can then be shared over the internet. On the receiving end, those with the same software can detect and extract any concealed information. The group claims it is releasing the program to allow political dissidents to communicate over the internet without fear of government interference.
Thomas Crosbie Media has signed a deal with Esat Group to provide news, sports and entertainment content to their Web sites, including iol.ie and oceanfree.net.
Euphony Communications, launched in Ireland in September 2000, may have thrown a cat amongst the pigeons for other operators with the launch of its 'Talk3000' campaign -- a new offer for Euphony's Irish residential customer base giving 3000 minutes free talk time. The 3000 minutes is broken down into 25 hours free off-peak national calls and 25 hours off-peak local calls every month.
New analysis from marketing consultants Frost & Sullivan reveals that mobile games generated revenues totalling USD436.4 million in 2001. Steady growth for messaging-based, Web-based and downloadable mobile gaming could push total revenues to USD9.34 billion in 2008. With mobile voice services becoming increasingly commoditised all the networks will be praying this assessment is correct.
