Cyantel announces three new Board members | Garrett Sherry new General Manager for Reuters Ireland
Data Solutions has announced the appointment of David Keating as product manager with responsibility for its security division. Keating previously worked as business development manager with internetworking strategies at the company.
Salesforce.com, with its international headquarters in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow, has appointed Ariel Luedi as vice president and general manager for Central and Southern Europe. He joins the online CRM provider from BroadVision where he was vice-president of sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa with responsibility for a sales team of 100.
SAS, the business intelligence and data warehousing provider, has appointed Ronan Gavin as its Alliances Manager in Ireland. Gavin takes responsibility for working with partners and developing the SAS Alliance Programme in Ireland. Gavin previously worked with SoftCo as head of Global Alliances and prior to that with Ulster Bank Markets.
As part of its global expansion strategy, VistaTEC, a provider of globalisation solutions, announced the opening of an additional office in the Boston, MA, region. Running this office is Todd Kay, who has more than 10 years of experience in the localisation industry, working with companies such as ITP and SDL. VistaTEC has headquarters in Dublin, Ireland and satellite offices in Boston, MA, San Jose, CA and Washington D.C.
Cyantel has announced three new appointments to the Board. The appointments follow a successful second round financing completed in April 2002. The new Board members are Cory Van Wolvelaere, Caroline Wardle and Bryan Maguire. Cory Van Wolvelaere has over 20 years experience in the IT and telecoms sector and was formerly a partner with Accenture. Caroline Wardle is Director and founder of HotOrigin, the early stage VC in Ireland. She formerly led Accenture's eCommerce practice in Dublin and prior to that initiated IBM's eCommerce consulting practice in Ireland after being transferred from South Africa by IBM. Bryan Maguire joins the Board as Financial Director. Maguire was previously Financial Director with Portable Software Solutions, a Dublin-based company specialising in mobile data solutions, subsequently sold to Vertex Inc. Established in July 1999, Cyantel is headquartered in Cork.
ebookers in Ireland has announced the appointment of Sandra Lawler as General Manager. Prior to joining the company, Lawler spent 12 years with Aer Lingus, most recently as ebusiness programme manager. ebookers.ie was launched in July 2000, offering discounted airfares, accommodation, sun and ski holidays, car hire and insurance from Ireland. The company employs 15 people to look after Irish consumers, as well as an additional 60 staff handling customer calls from the UK.
BT Group has announced the appointment of Clayton Brendish to the board of BT Group plc as a non-executive director. Brendish, who joins the board on 1 September, 2002, is the former deputy chairman of CMG plc, and the founder and executive chairman of Admiral plc.
The on-line music company MP3.com has appointed Chris Montgomery as its chief executive officer in Europe. Montgomery, who is a former senior vice president at Vivendi Universal Net and vice president at MP3.com in the US, has been appointed as CEO of MP3.com EUROPE. Following the company's successful launch of six fully-localised European Web sites, Montgomery will continue to drive MP3.com Europe's goal of becoming a leading music portal in Europe.
EMC Corporation has announced that Mark Lewis, a longtime storage executive and one of the industry's recognised storage technologists, will join the company as Executive Vice President of New Ventures and Chief Technology Officer (CTO). David Goulden, also joins the company as Executive Vice President of Global Marketing and Business Development.
Reuters, the information, technology and news group, has appointed Garrett Sherry, General Manager for Reuters Ireland with immediate effect. He will also be responsible for managing the company's business in the north of England.
