Sony Ericsson's new T610 unveiled
05-03-2003
by Ralph Averbuch
Sony Ericsson has taken the wraps off its latest handset, the T610, with camera, 65k colour screen and Java.
This is a handset plainly targetted at the style concious with an aluminium body, a large colour display and the ability to play a wide variety of games. It also comes with 2 megabytes of on-board memory.
The T610 takes advantage of the large screen by introducing a graphical interface that tries to increase ease-of-use. Soft keys make applications easier and faster to use while hotlinks in menus give direct access to various services included in the device. Animated icons also seek to add life to the desktop and menus.
Of course, a large screen means more space allowing easier viewing of messages, SMS, MMS and e-mail.
Expect to see this becoming available to purchase around late summer. No price has been announced as yet, or whether it will be part of the networks' phone portfolio.
