CRANN opens EUR12m nanoscience lab | Nokia reveals iPhone challenger
Google has acquired Israeli mobile and web app developer LabPixies. Financial details were not disclosed. Read more on All Things Digital.
Salesforce.com and VMware have unveiled a cloud-based partnership called VMForce, which is aimed at Java developers, helping them to easily deploy applications that can run in the cloud. Read the press release here.
CRANN, the TCD and UCC nanoscience research facility, has opened its new EUR12 million nanoscience research lab in TCD. The Advanced Microscopy Laboratory is funded by Science Foundation Ireland and the Higher Education Authority. Read more here.
David Coghlan has been appointed managing director at gaming software firm Havok, effective from June. Coghlan, who will replace outgoing MD David O'Meara, has been with Havok for six years.
Nokia has unveiled its iPhone challenger, the N8 smartphone, which will run on Symbian 3 software. Will launch in the third quarter of this year at an estimated price of EUR370 (excluding taxes and subsidies). Read the press release here.
