Irish company Advanced Innovations is helping Oracle showcase its new cloud strategies at this week's Oracle OpenWorld 2010 conference in San Francisco.
Advanced Innovations Senior Vice-President IT Michael Higgins said he was demonstrating Advanced Innovations' own deployments of Oracle applications in the Amazon cloud at OpenWorld. Oracle announced on Monday that its customers could now deploy their Oracle software within Amazon's Elastic Computer Cloud (EC2) service.
"On Monday I spoke about our success at deploying the Oracle E-Business Suite in the cloud and then around Oracle back-up and recovery in the cloud," Higgins said. "On Tuesday I also spoke about Oracle SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) instrumentation and SOA governance."
Limerick-based Advanced Innovations creates and orchestrates global supply-chain networks for designing, building and delivering electronic products. It has partners in Ireland, China, India, UK and USA. The company was established in 2003, has 40 staff and reported revenues of over USD41 million in 2009. Higgins said that smart deployment of cutting-edge IT solutions had allowed Advanced Innovations to grow so quickly.
"Our business is doubling revenue each year, yet our headcount increase is under 5 percent a year," he said. "Our use of Oracle Oracle WebCenter Suite, Beehive collaboration tool and SOA means our Chinese parts supplier can use a laptop and a web self-service screen to see how many transistors he can supply us."
Other Irish or Irish-based companies speaking or exhibiting at OpenWorld 2010 include network audit and monitoring specialists iQuate and clinical research firm ICON. For more details see here.
