Fujitsu Siemens Computers appoints new Managing Director for UK and Ireland | Saadian Technologies appoints Senior Sales Executive

Fujitsu Siemens Computers has appointed Dave Cullinane, formerly Hewlett-Packard's director of partner business, as its managing director for the UK and Ireland. Cullinane joins Fujitsu Siemens Computers from Accenture where he was director of alliance services. Before that, he spent 15 years at Hewlett-Packard in a range of sales and marketing roles. Earlier he worked in the Middle East and started his career with Bayer, the pharmaceutical company.

Broadband satellite services company Tachyon Europe B.V. has appointed Gerton Lusink as European Sales Director. Prior to joining Tachyon, he was with Gilat Satellite Networks (Holland) B.V. where he most recently served as managing director and sales director. Prior to that he worked with Getronics.

Saadian Technologies, the developer of custom software solutions in the Internet and mobile space, has appointed Jonathon Crowley as Senior Sales Executive. Crowley previously worked with Logica Ireland and Cyrona Software.

DCC, the business support services group, announced that former Bank of Ireland head Maurice Keane has been co-opted to the board as a non-executive director. Keane was group chief executive of Bank of Ireland February last and was deputy group chief executive from 1991 to 1998. He continues to be a member of the court of directors of Bank of Ireland and is chairman of Bristol & West.

The company has also appointed Tony Barry as chairman of the DCC board remuneration committee and Paddy Gallagher as chairman of the DCC board audit committee. Barry is a member of the court of directors of Bank of Ireland and is chairman of Greencore. Gallagher is former head of legal and pensions administration at Guinness Ireland Group and is a former chairman of the Irish Association of Pension Funds. He is chairman of the Trustees of An Post Pension Fund and a member of the committee of management of the Irish Pension Fund Property Unit Trust.

Unisys Corporation has named Richard W. Phelps to the position of vice president of marketing for its global outsourcing business unit. Phelps joins Unisys from Level 8 Systems where he served as senior vice president of worldwide marketing. At Relativity Technologies he was vice president, marketing and strategic alliances. Previously, he served as vice president of business development at Antares Alliance Group, a joint venture of EDS and Amdahl that provides enterprise application development tools and services. Prior to that, he was national director of IT marketing at Ernst & Young, LLP.

Allied Irish Banks has appointed Donal Forde as the new Managing Director of AIB Bank, Republic of Ireland. He was formerly General Manager of AIB Bank's Strategic Development Unit (SDU). Forde joined AIB in September 1978 and worked in AIB Capital Markets, becoming Head of AIB Corporate and Commercial Treasury in 1995 and Head of Treasury Services in 1998.
