JLS Technology appoints Business Development Manager | Eontec appoints General Manager for Central Europe

JLS Technology, an independent Irish IT services provider, has appointed Paddy Tallon as business development manager at its Dublin office. Prior to joining JLS Technology, Paddy was a technical account manager with EMC and before that was head of IT with Deutsche Bank Ireland.

Eontec has appointed Aristoteles Kabarganos as general manager for Central Europe. Heading up sales, marketing and partner activity in Central Europe, Kabarganos will be responsible for building awareness and driving Eontec's development across the region. Most recently, Kabarganos was senior VP for BT's global mobile Internet division, Genie Internet Ltd, and established the company's presence in Germany. He has also held senior roles at Globeset Inc., a US provider of secure payment infrastructure solutions and Brokat AG, a global banking software provider.

Independent News & Media PLC has appointed Vincent Crowley as Chief Executive - Ireland, with responsibility for the Group's Irish media interests. Crowley, a qualified chartered accountant, was previously group financial controller of Independent News & Media PLC from 1990 until 1996, when he moved to Australia as finance director of APN News & Media Limited. He was appointed to the board of Independent News & Media PLC in 1997. In 2000, he was appointed chief executive of APN News & Media Ltd.

Edelman PR Worldwide has appointed Carlo Crighton as international practice leader for technology. Crighton joins Edelman in this newly created role from Text 100 International, part of OneMonday Group plc. At OneMonday, he held the position of board director and prior to that he set up and managed Text 100 Ireland.

Yahoo has appointed Daniel J. Finnigan as senior vice president of Yahoo and executive vice president and general manager of HotJobs.com, Ltd. Finnigan will be responsible for all HotJobs operations, including ongoing integration with Yahoo and the development and expansion of HotJobs' position in the on-line recruitment space. Finnigan most recently served as president of Knight Ridder Digital with responsibility for all of Knight Ridder's Internet products, brands and operations, including Real Cities Network and CareerBuilder. Prior to that Finnigan was president and chief executive officer of SBC Interactive, a subsidiary of SBC Communications, where he launched and operated SMARTpages.com, a national on-line yellow pages directory for Pacific Bell, Southwestern Bell, Ameritech, Southern New England Telephone, and across the country.

TMP Worldwide Inc. has appointed Michelle Abbey as president, advertising & communications, Americas. Abbey formerly served as senior vice president, global interactive product manager and now assumes overall management and operational responsibility for the advertising & communications division across the entire Americas region (US, Canada and Latin America).

The company also announced the appointment of Derek Irwin as chief financial officer, advertising & communications, Americas. Formerly CFO of the company's executive search and e-resourcing divisions in the Americas, Irwin replaces current advertising & communications CFO Nigel Crouch, who is taking on a new role in the controller office of TMP Worldwide.
